Global Shtetl Live

Sunday, May 125:30 PM Penn Social Canceled

This program has been cancelled, but the Yidlive! event and both screenings of Chewdaism will proceed as originally scheduled.

***Bring your Yiddishe Mama! This event is the perfect way to show your Jewish Mama (or any mom) how much you love them on Mother’s Day.***

For the first time ever in a live stetting, the intrepid Yiddish comedy team of Jamie Elman and Eli Batalion (Yidlife Crisis) mine the journeys taken to shoot their documentaries Narishkayt—about an eye-opening visit to Krakow—and Chewdaism—a kaleidoscopic culinary tear through Montreal—to present a walking, laughing and crying tour, with the audience as their virtual travel partners.

The duo also appear at the Festival for the Q&A of their film Chewdaism: A Taste of Jewish Montreal and with the live presentation Yidlive!

Co-presented by Inter-American Development Bank

As ‘comedy peacekeepers’, YidLife regularly performs live all over Canada, the US, Europe and Israel, and has twice been named to the Slingshot Guide as one of the Top 50 Most Innovative Jewish Organizations in North America. Jamie recently starred in the Toronto production of the play BAD JEWS, his third run of that show in 3 years.
