AvevA is back! The opening night star of the 2016 Washington Jewish Music Festival returns with brand new music, blending pop, soul ,and funk with traditional Ethiopian sounds.

Aveva Dese is an Ethiopian-Israeli singer-songwriter who fuses traditional Ethiopian sounds and groove with her soul-pop melodies, producing a unique style with universal appeal.

As a first generation immigrant from Ethiopia, AvevA brings a fascinating life story into her music—she sings about society, freedom, and love, all while creating an inspiring and empowering experience.

AvevA’s 2nd album, In My Thoughts, was released in March 2019 to tremendous critical acclaim, both in Israel and internationally.

AvevA brings a unique cultural flare to the table with her singular style, an enchanting mix of English, Hebrew and Amharic lyrics layered on traditional Ethiopian rhythms.

Originally discovered on the Israeli version of The Voice, Aveva has displayed her universal appeal on tours with Idan Raichel and with her original music at festivals across Israel, Europe and North America.
