Gene Wilder (1933 – 2016) was a comic genius. From Leo Bloom in Mel Brooks’  The Producers to his star role in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, to his partnership with Richard Pryor in movies like Silver Streak, to the comedy classics of Blazing Saddles, The Frisco Kid and Young Frankenstein, he brought a unique voice to comedy that appealed to multiple generations. This entertaining and touching biographical documentary is a treat, with film clips spanning Wilder’s career. Get ready to watch the Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory remake and binge-watch Wilder’s filmography after seeing this terrific tribute.

JxJ’s first-ever in-person film club kicks off this December with our December 14 screening of Remembering Gene Wilder. Anyone can attend the screening, but only film club members can join a moderated conversation with fellow club members following the showing.
